GCA WORKSHOP


All members may attend these workshops organized by various GCA committees.  Contact the respective Committee Chair for more information about registering and fees. 

GCA Floral Design Workshops Floral Design Workshops (FD101, FD201, FD301 and FD401) are all inclusive, novice to intermediate level, one day, hands-on workshops. Designed to build skills and confidence, these workshops are an excellent introduction to floral design and an easy going way to prepare club members for flowers shows. All members are welcome to attend. There are currently no workshops scheduled for 2022-23.

 GCA Photography Workshops are designed to educate regardless of expertise and experience. In addition to these workshops, Photography 101 is a free series of video tutorials aimed at the novice that you can view online.

Zone Judging Workshops help maintain judging standards and are part of the continuing education process of the GCA Judging Program. These workshops are intended to provide information on new trends and practices.  You do not need to be a judge to attend the Zone V Judging workshop. 

The FD Study Group Workshop, organized by the Floral Design Committee, are 2-day master classes offered annually for GCA club members interested in studying with a professional, international designer and in advancing their design skills. Students who take this series are generally looking for an opportunity to take an immersive course in order to learn cutting edge techniques and examine new and innovative design styles.  The next study group will be held at beautiful Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle, for this year’s workshop, October 23rd-October 27th, 2022. Two sessions will be offered. The first session begins with a welcome dinner on October 23rd , followed by two full day classes on the 24th and 25th. The second session begins with dinner on the 25th, followed by two full day sessions on the 26th and 27th.The workshop instructor will be our most beloved Hitomi Gilliam. Hitomi will share new techniques and design inspirations and we will experience hands-on instruction and critique during the intensive two-day workshop. CLICK HERE to learn more
